Frequently Asked Questions

To qualify as a member of a team at the National Championships an archer must be registered with the NFAS Membership Secretary as a member of the club they wish to shoot for. This must be no less than 90 days prior to the first day of the National Championships taking place. Full team rules are provided with the Team Entry Form.

Yes as long as you are a current NFAS member. All walkers and shoot guardians must be booked in in advance (on the entry form) and must provide details of the archer that they will be accompanying.

You must be a full adult or full junior member with current membership to apply to enter the the Nationals or 3Ds. If you have shot an NFAS National Champs (either Nationals or 3Ds) before then you are eligible to enter. If you haven’t shot an NFAS Champs before then you will need to provide 3 signed cards from 3 different shoots (not different clubs) in the style you intend to shoot at your first 3Ds or Nationals. An archer can submit 3 signed cards on different dates from the same club (as long as it’s not the said member’s club). A ?Statement of Attendance’ is not acceptable. We currently hold two Championship events each year. The first is the 3D Champs (held on Bank Holiday weekend at the end of May) and the second is the National Champs held on the 3rd weekend in September.

Firstly, check that you can meet the Application Requirements (see Coaching section), then complete the coach training form and send to the NFAS Coach Co-ordinator (details are on the form). If you have a specific question please email the Coach Co-ordinator

Please contact the Membership Secretary asap regarding all changes to contact details. Please provide your existing membership number.

Replacement membership cards can be ordered online. Alternatively, please print, complete and send a membership form (marked with ‘replacement card’) and appropriate fees to the Membership Secretary. The Replacement card fee is currently £5.

To be upgraded to Full Membership, a provisional member must be deemed competent and be signed off by one of the recognised person/s designated on the membership form (section B) and registered as such by the Membership Secretary. No additional fees are incurred.

Membership renewals are due before the 1st April. Memberships can be renewed at any point from January 2nd and are accepted up until early December; your membership will then expire in March the following year. You are not covered by NFAS insurance until you are in receipt of your membership card. Please allow up to 21 days for your membership card to be processed.

Any group of NFAS Members may form themselves into a Club. Any such Club shall be recognised subject to the compliance with the following:

• each Club must send to the NFAS Membership Secretary a copy of their own Constitution and/or Rules which must not conflict in any way with the Rules and Constitution of the Society
• each Club must have a minimum of three NFAS members (but not all Club members need to be NFAS members)
• you must provide the NFAS Membership Secretary with the names of at least two members as contacts for the Club
• a Club may adopt any name or title which is not already in use by or very similar to the name of another Club or the Society itself. That name must not be in any way offensive.

If you would like you shoot report/results in the newsletter then please email all separate files and photos to the Magazine Editor. If you would like you shoot report on the website please combine into one file and send to shootreports@nfas.net

All shoot dates additions and edits should be emailed to the Shoot Dates Co-ordinator who will then add them to the newsletter and to the website. If you have a last minute cancellation it is worth considering copying Webby in on the email so an announcement can be put on the website.

If you spot an error or a problem with the website then please contact Webby. The NFAS is run by volunteers and our website contains a huge amount data so sometimes we have to rely on others to spot the issues.

Your web ID is on you NFAS membership card. Please note that your wed ID changes every year, even if your membership number does not.
