President – Role Description

Overview:

Ensure the smooth running of the society for the benefit of all the members ensuring all legal and regulatory responsibilities are discharged. Foster good working relationships with external
stakeholders. Voting member of the Committee with a Directorship on Companies House. DBS
required.

Key Tasks:

  • Chairing 5-6 Committee meetings per year and the AGM, checking and approving minutes,
    liaising with the General Secretary for agenda items
  • Investigate and reply to member communication and correspondence
  • Liaising with other members of the Committee
  • Overview of projects being undertaken by the Committee
  • Writing bi-monthly ‘President’s Letter’ for the newsletter
  •  Attend and Support the Field Officer at the twice-yearly championships for general assistance and making announcements where applicable
  • Arrange and/or attend disciplinary hearings as required
  • Undertake any training required by the NFAS Committee and ensure Committee members
    complete specified training
  • Ensuring all processes and procedures are adhered to

Time Commitment:

4 hours per week average, depending on time of year
1 day at the weekend approximately every 2 months for Committee meetings
