Rule Clarifications
Posted: 4 April 2024
Further to the recent proposals voted on by the membership, the NFAS committee acknowledges that the wording for the markings has caused some confusion therefore would like to clarify the following by standing order. Additional wording in bold below.
Standing order 1 – add to HT, BB, TB:
There shall be no markings that could be used to aim in the window of the bow riser. If present, they must be covered up with a vertical solid colour tape that in itself does not become a marking. Wood grain and manufacturers’ camo are acceptable. Manufacturers’ wording, deliberate markings, homemade camo markings, or any other markings that can be used as aiming marks, are not allowed.
Standing order 2 – add to HT style
The arrow can be shot off a rest, the shelf or the hand. Brush buttons, string silencers and limb savers are permitted but no other knots or attachments (in addition to the string serving) that could be used for sighting or location purposes are allowed.
Standing order 3 – add to TB
Limb savers and string silencers are allowed. No other knots or attachments in addition to the string serving that could be used for sighting or location purposes, are allowed.
